Although it would probably spiral out of control almost immediately, and then I'd have a bunch of incremental versions of my novels lying around---leaving me with the same problem I have with files, which is keeping it straight which one's the latest version. We went out of town (three days in the snowy Sierra Nevadas), and I spent the whole time offline, probably longer than I've been offline in the entire year since I started blogging.
