Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn ones!”
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
Love and suffering reconciled.
Joyful, all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
With th’ angelic host proclaim,
“Children born to us again!”
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn ones!”

Child by highest heav’n adored:
Child, the everlasting born;
Late in time behold them come,
Offspring of the favored ones.
Veil’d in flesh, the children see;
Hail, th’incarnate deities:
Pleased as us, with us to dwell,
Children, whom we love so well!
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn ones!”

Hail! the heav’n-born child of peace!
Hail! the child of righteousness!
Light and life to all they bring,
Risen with healing in their wings.
Mild they lay their glory by,
Born that life no more may die:
Born, more children of earth,
Born to give us this great birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn ones!”
