My clients and I typically exchange these partial and full manuscripts through email (“softcopy”), although we can also do it through the regular mail (“hardcopy”). Never, ever, ever send anybody the only hardcopy of your work, except maybe your mother, and even then make sure beforehand that she knows not to bronze it and put it on the mantelpiece.
